On August 31, 1925 a group of 32 members of West Bend Church organized as the “Trustees of West Bend Cemetery Association” and built the cemetery. Sixteen years had elapsed since West Bend was founded in 1909 and during those years there were burials in the land behind the wood frame church, but not a formal cemetery. Samuel Edgar Davidson donated the land for the cemetery and Brazilla Robbins maintained it for many years. These two families along the names of other “founders” of the Memorial Association can be found on markers and stones throughout the cemetery.
